AllSOskilled, Adult Learners Social and Life Skills Enhancement Program For Increased Competitivity in 2020 Labour Market

Employers increasingly value transversal skills—like problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking—over narrow technical skills. The 2017 World Economic Forum predicted that by 2020, 36% of jobs would require complex problem-solving and strong social abilities. Core skills such as ICT literacy, creativity, and active learning are also becoming essential. However, around 70 million adults in Europe lack these basic and transversal skills, making them more vulnerable to unemployment, poverty, and social exclusion, and limiting their ability to engage in lifelong learning or fully participate in the digital economy, according to the OECD.
Objectives:
To develop and test an all-in-one learning program to help adults learners in strengthening soft skills while raising their awareness on the importance of lifelong learning possibilities, thus increasing their motivation for improvement and enhancing their employability skills in the process. The program aims to offer an all in one social/transversal skills improvement program that incorporate best practices available for use by individuals, other organizations, enterprises and local, regional, national and European authorities, while raising the awareness on the need for these skills.
Target group:
Adult learners with more than 35 year of age. The project aims to develop their ability to deal with change, and act with a critical and responsible stance. Raising the skills and competences of adults significantly contributes to achieving the strategic objectives of Europe 2020, as reflected in the policy cycle of the European Semester.
