Internationalising Trading For Social Enterprise Sustanability and Education
Project Number: 2017-1-UK01-KA203-036607
Erasmus+ project “Internationalising Trading for Social Enterprise Sustainability and Education” in United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Latvia and Lithuania.
This strategic partnership is focused on improving education and training practices. It targets individuals looking to gain knowledge about the internationalization of social enterprises or those already involved in such organizations who want to enhance their ability to trade goods and services internationally, which will help their sustainability.
The project’s outcomes will benefit the social enterprise sector at various levels, including local, regional, national, and international.
A survey by the British Council and Social Enterprise in 2014 highlighted different needs in the export market for social enterprises and indicated a lack of support for many exporters. Consequently, the project aims to conduct a thorough study with EU partners to understand why social enterprises engage in international trade and identify barriers supports involved. Key factors to be examined include reasons for expanding abroad, timing and entry strategies, and locations chosen.
Project objectives include developing an e-framework that identifies enablers and barriers to international trade, mapping current support mechanisms available to social enterprises, creating infographic and video case studies, and producing educational materials about trading practices and sustainability. Activities will include hosting conferences, developing training frameworks, publishing reports on support mechanisms, and providing vocational training. The work will also produce visual materials highlighting the experiences of social enterprises engaged in inernational trading.
